This is another incident of VIP high handedness,this time they have not spared two serving Army officers & a retired Brigadier.
On the night of 20 Mar, around 2300h, Brig Arun Kaistha, (Reter) of 16 CAV with his wife, daughter, son in law Maj Raul Pallat & Son Maj Arjun Kaistha both serving officers posted at Mamun were returning from a family dinner outing at a restraunt in Pathankot when they accosted a car being driven rashly. On slowing down the erring driver Arjun who was driving the family car was abused and a verbal altercation ensued. The Brigadier got down and tried to calm down the situation but to no avail. The lady in the erring car suddenly started screaming and made calls to someone. Soon a mob gathered and berated the Army Officers of molesting and harasing the civilian couple. The mob was led by one Mr Sahni a BJP Municipal pradhan & the erring driver is some Bakshi. As things got worse a couple of policemen turned up and started to harass the hapless officers with their ladies cowering in the car.
Brigadier Kaistha requested the policemen to call a PCR. Though the call was made no one turned up for an agonising half an hour or so. All this while the crowd continued to heckle and abuse the trio. An ASI finally turned up, made arrangements for the ladies to leave and instructed the policemen to take the two Army Officers to the PS. Brigadier Kaistha, the two officers, two policemen accompanied by the municipal pradhan moved to the PS. The crowd followed raising Anti Army slogans at the behest of the politico.
In the meantime one of the tamasha watchers in the mob not connected with the incident collapsed and subsequently died of natural causes.
This was an opportunity for the politico to earn brownie points. He declared that the man died due to alter cation with the trio and immediately the police who till then were behaving amicably with the faujis turned hostile particularly the SHO. Immediately a charge under section 302 of IPC was levied against the serving officers and they were detained.
Approximately 48h later the officers continue to be detained.
No copy of the FIR has been made available
There is no sign of the PM report of the alleged case of death.
The body has since been cremated.
There is no sign of the concerned magistrate in front of whom they should have been produced within 24h.
Despite Best efforts by the HQ Western & Northern Commands, HQ 9 Corps & Sub Area Commander 21 Sub Area, the police is not relenting possibly at the behest of a light weight politico from the ruling alliance in Punjab.
Video grabs of the incident are reportedly available with reporters of "Dainik Jagran" & a local daily called "AAJ".
The SSP is apparently out of town and an SHO is holding the fort.
A case where a law abiding citizen more so an army officer only wanted to advise the erring individual of the hazards of rash driving specially in the congested roads of mofussil towns.
The officers are still in custody, the army has not been able to take over the case, the offrs are still languisging in the jail for the past 5 days without any solid evidence against them just on the basis of a false FIR by a politician ... This just shows that The citizens of this country would rather trust a corrupt Politician than the army . . .

कामरेड भोगेंद्र झा साहब काफी समय मधुबनी, बिहार से लोकसभा सदस्य रहे हैं उनकी रचना जो उनके व्यक्तित्व का दर्पण है जनता का हृदय जीतने वाली है इसीलिए वह उसका प्रतिनिधित्व करने में सफल हो सके । लेकिन आज उत्तर-प्रदेश में पार्टी नेतृत्व के बारे में निवेदिता श्रीवास्तव जी का आंकलन सत्य का आईना है। रामेन्द्र जेनवार साहब का कमेन्ट एक हकीकत है। राष्ट्रीय परिषद के लिए उत्तर-प्रदेश से प्रतिनिधित्व करने वालों में 50 प्रतिशत ब्राह्मण जाति के लोग हैं जिसका 66 प्रतिशत (कुल प्रदेशीय प्रतिनिधित्व का 33 प्रतिशत ) एक ही परिवार का है। कर्ण धारों की सोच कैसी है ?इसका एक उदाहरण उपरोक्त फेसबुक नोट व उस पर महाराष्ट्र के प्रबुद्ध कामरेड के कमेन्ट से स्पष्ट होता है। जनता व पार्टी कार्यकर्ताओं की अपेक्षा फिल्मी नायकों का चिंतन किया जाता है और उस IAS अधिकारी के लिए सड़क पर प्रदर्शन किया जाता है जो प्रदेश से केडर बदलवा कर चला जाता है। साफ है कि निकट भविष्य में पार्टी लोकप्रियता नहीं अर्जित करने जा रही है फिर कैसे सांप्रदायिकता का मुक़ाबला करेगी? सही सलाह को ठुकरा कर और चापलूसों को आगे बढ़ा कर जनता के बीच पैठ नहीं बनाई जा सकती है -यह एक कटु सत्य है। दलित व पिछड़ा वर्ग से काम तो लो परंतु उनको आगे न बढ्ने दो इस सोच से पार्टी का विस्तार कभी नहीं हो सकता है बल्कि निरंतर संकुचन होता जा रहा है। पूर्व में दो बार पार्टी में इसी कारण विभाजन हो चुके हैं तथा इस वर्ष इसी आधार पर नए आए लोग पार्टी छोड़ गए हैं। उनको मार्क्स वाद समझाने के बजाए उनको बाहर का रास्ता दिखा दिया गया है। स्वार्थी तत्वों को बचाने के लिए सत्यावलंबियों को सतत दबाया जा रहा है। वामपंथ के हितैषियों द्वारा आगाह करने पर उनको संघी का खिताब दे देने से जनता पार्टी के पाले में कैसे खींची जा सकती है? कंवल भारती जी, लालाजी निर्मल और रामेन्द्र जेनवार साहब ने सटीक सत्य की ओर ही इंगित किया है।
बजाए नेक सलाहों को मानने के यदि इसी प्रकार हितैषियों पर प्रहार जारी रहे तो साफ है कि ऐसा करने वाले दक्षिण पंथी अर्द्ध-सैनिक तानाशाही के लिए लगे लोगों की ही ख़्वाहिश पूरी करने जा रहे हैं जनता का भला करने या पार्टी को मजबूत करने नहीं।
